Straw Churning Machine

I’m able to produce

a lot at once —

one of the talents

of modern society.

I’m like a factory machine,

except less precise.

And after churning for quite some time,I

look back and wonder:

was any of it

any good?

Does quantity trump quality?

Maybe not

in the long game.

But in the context

of our current time —

I think I’d disagree.

We are selling straw houses.

We are building straw mansions.

Brick is too slow.

For the visions we hold

The wolf may huff,

puff the next trend down —

but it’ll already be too late.

We build too fast.

The next trend is already done.

And certainly,

the wolf will tire first —

over the straw-churning machine

that my brain has become.
