Spaghetti Mother

The modern mother
is made of spaghetti
She’s hard at work
But soft at play
Thin and long
She bends in many ways
Throughout the day
She can handle a lot of pressure
But left too long
Then she may melt down
Once, or twice
Entertaining comes easily
As her spaghetti arms fling about
Tantrums? Crying spells?
A nibble of her spaghetti body
Makes all the ow ows go away
She can be hot and tender
But also cold and stiff
Sometimes a little clingy
But that’s the beauty of it
And like spaghetti for dinner
A modern mother
Doesn’t ask for much in return
Just some form of acknowledgment
“Wow, this is some great spaghetti”
She’s funny and witty
Strong and pretty
Happy and go lucky
Sleep deprived and hungry
My - what a fearsome thing to behold
