This project marked my very first experience in set design — creating a stage that reflected Vir Das’s journey from India to the USA. The goal was to visually bridge two worlds, celebrating his cross-cultural success while keeping the focus on his storytelling.

I contributed to the concept and detailing of the set, ensuring the design balanced authenticity and performance energy. When the paint team fell behind, I jumped in, after working in the office all day, to help hand-paint the brick backdrop, a last-minute moment that turned into one of my favorite memories from the project.

I discovered how collaborative and fast-paced set design can be and how thrilling it is to see an idea transform into a living space under production lights. It taught me the power of adaptability and creative problem-solving under pressure.
For me, it was the spark that made me fall in love with set design.
